In today’s online world, Personal Branding has become very important and you need to know how to develop your personal brand , How to launch your personal Brand , How to monetize your personal brand and how to scale your personal brand.
In this video you are going to learn how to monetise your personal brand. Now why would you want to monetise your personal brand? The reason why is because it is going to be very difficult for you to justify allocating the time, the energy and the resources to growing your personal brand if it is not going to give you a payoff. So that is one of the main reasons so that you can continue to grow your personal brand if it produces income for you.
So let’s get started.
In this short video below we are simply going to cover how to Monetize your personal brand.
Now what we have come to realize is that usually in anything in life or business or career your income is a reflection of the value that you produce; meaning that the impact that you have for your company ,your organisation or your audience.
So when monetizing your personal brand, just know that if you have a small audience your content and value only reaches and impacts a small audience you are only going to make a small amount of income. Meaning, that you are only going to be able to monetize in direct proportion to the amount of value and impact and people that you are able to reach.
So with that being said, we are going to get started on talking about the ascension model so that you can get the basic foundational understanding of how to monetise your personal brand the right way from the get go.
Now I want you to understand that what we are talking about is going to have a lot to do with where you are currently at -meaning that if we have a large audience of people already, you already know what you are doing with your personal brand. You are reaching a lot of people , impacting a lot of lives and adding a lot of value. It is going to be easier for you to make more money because you have that foundation in place.
Now if you are watching this and just getting started and have just a small audience or no audience at all and if you have only produced a few pieces of content, it is going to be important for you to understand how to use those pieces of content ,about the ascension model of how to take people from your free content to your paid content; and your paid programs and your paid services.
The Ascension model is an essential model of getting people to go from knowing you to liking you to trusting you. Let's be honest and agree right now, its very unlikely that someone is going to give you their money if they don’t know , like and trust you.
So what we are trying to do here through your personal brand here in order to monetize is that we are trying to get a lot of people to know you, get value from your content so they like you and ultimately have that happen consistently in their lives to the point where they ultimately trust you and see you as the logical person from who they would buy an affiliate product or your own product/service because they see you as someone they can trust.
So as we dive in here let us understand what is "Free Ungated" and "Free Gated" content.
Ungated content means that you could just walk right in into posts on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, YouTube , Instagram , Blog or even a Podcast or anything of that nature. You could walk right in and you could start consuming the content for free. So this is free ungated content.
Free Gated Content is also for free. But you have to give something to unlock the gate to access the free content. Gated content is that you have to give something to get in through the gate in order to unlock the gate to get to the free content. This could be just your name and email or name, email and phone number.
A version of this you may see that if on YouTube someone has a YouTube tube channel about health and wellness . It is ungated content which you find and use for free. Then they might share a link for going to their website and getting their free newsletter, Free E-book, Free Cheat-sheet or their free MP3 download that helps you get your mindset right .You go sign up for the newsletter or download the Cheat-sheet by giving your name, email and maybe phone number.
You are taking someone from something for free that you do not have to do anything but find it and consume the content. Then at a higher level you get that newsletter or cheat-sheet through the gated content .This starts with some basic content for free and this tends to get slightly more advanced eventually leading them to coming to the logical conclusion that they have have worked their way up your content essentially giving you their information showing that they don’t just know you and your content. They like it enough, they like you enough to give you their name and email to unlock the gate and get the content. This shows that they go from just knowing you to liking you enough to want to express interest in committing to moving their way up.
And that gets them one step closer to potentially being interested in being a client or customer to products and services of your own or products and services that you affiliate yourself with and can get a commission from.
So another reason it is also important to get people’s information to unlock the gate is because now you can not only build a social media following, where people are consuming your content for free on ungated platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or LinkedIn , but in addition to that you are now building an Email database also.
Some people think that email is outdated and it is old and people are not using it so much and depending to the audience you are speaking with that could be accurate. But most people in the world, most people who have a career or have a business still use email every day and every week. So it is another really good way to not just build a social media following to impact those people, it is very important that you build an email database. In addition to Email, you can also ask people to give their cellphone numbers also so that now you can text them other valuable information. You can now text them the next thing . You can text then offers and email them too.
So now as you monetize and grow and scale your personal brand, you will have a social media following and you will also have some of those people also on your email list and potentially also on a text message list. Because a lot of people will open text messages and depending on your audience a lot of people also open their emails in addition to social media. This allows, you to not have all your eggs in one basket so to speak. So you can diversify how you are able to reach people, impact people and monetize different offers from those people and serve them at a higher level.
So it is very important that you set something like this up. There are a lot of different platforms and websites and technology out there which allows you to effortlessly, easily and affordably learn how to use different technology and software to bring people up in Ascension model. There are a lot of different plugins you can use to be able to effortlessly refer people to products , effortlessly refer people to someone else’s ascension model where you benefit financially on the backside.
A lot of influencers nowadays are not business people and that is okay . Because some people don’t want to have a business . They just want to have a personal brand that allows them to create content in a way they enjoy , impact people through education and entertainment and they don’t want to have a business. They may not even want to have products and services of their own.
And so a lot of times nowadays people are using their personal brands and monetizing it specifically through being an affiliate. Which means that you might only create free ungated content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube - depending upon your platform of choice and you can just refer other peoples’ products, other peoples gated free content that would put them in a sequence that would logically bring them up to wanting to buy a product or service now or sometime in the future.
And then in either one of those scenarios you would be financially compensated and you can get paid out through a variety of different ways. PayPal, blockchain, credit card , bank transfer there are so many ways in which you can receive money. So bringing people up in an ascension model is the first thing in being aware of understanding that there should be an ascension model in the element of your personal brand to make it easy and effortless for you to monetize your brand in a seamless way.
Now the next thing we talk out when it comes to the Ascension Model is optimizing the lead flow. And all that it really means is that if there is a difficult scenario where your audience feels confused about how to work their way up to buying your product or service that’s going to create a conflict for you and your audience to effortlessly buy something.
Think of Amazon for example. It is very easy for you and me to go to Amazon on our computer , on our phone or on our tablet and it is easy for us to find a product and to buy the product. There isn't a lot of friction or confusion. In fact, they even have a 1 click purchase. Press the button once and you get the product. So it is as easy as possible. The optimization of the flow is very easy. Think about Amazon as searching for the product, adding the product to your cart and then purchasing the product. Each one of those steps is effortless and optimized. Just as it should be for you when monetizing your personal brand . You want to make it as easy as possible to manage and optimize the lead flow for the ascension.
A good way to do that for example would be on Instagram or Facebook , or LinkedIn or YouTube-some of the predominant platforms that are most commonly used for personal branding and building a following . The channel would be to plug in some kind of free download , free training, free checklist, pdf, E-book -lots of different scenarios . Things you could create at this gated level that someone would give you their name , email and possibly also their phone number to access and unlock the gate for that next free thing. You Plug that link in to your bio , you plug it into all those different channels which makes it easy for people to effortlessly go from Free, to Gated to Paid Content, so that you can monetize your personal brand with ease.
And so, again, you want to make sure that you don’t just rely on your own products and services because as I mentioned before a lot of people with their personal brands that are influencers or even those who are just getting started, they know they don’t want to have a business , a bunch of products and services and the logistics for fulfilment and all the complexity that can come with having a business . And really facilitating the transaction with the customer. It's easier to just say I produce content on health and wellness and I recommend this companies products and services. So a lot of times the easiest way for you to monetise your personal brand early on or later is simply to have really good affiliate relationships with other businesses and other products and services. The best way for you for that is to simply go on the company website and usually at the bottom there is a section that says become an affiliate, learn about becoming an affiliate. And so all you have to do is go on Amazon, go on different apps , go on different websites, and see if they have something that allows you to effortlessly and easily sign up as an affiliate so that you can start optimizing and start bringing people from your free ungated content up to your free gated content or someone else’s free gated content.
Then logically and systematically bring people to eventually now or later purchase a product or service so that you can get compensated because you were the affiliate who referred your audience to someone else’s product or because you have sold your own product or service.
And in either of these scenarios , you win and because you are serving your audience and building the know, like and trust that is necessary for you to really monetize your personal brand.
Remember that in the early stages if you have a small amount of people who know you because you have only been producing a little bit of content and you never really could justify going all in to building your personal brand because you were not receiving the compensation to justify the effort and energy you were putting in. This will allow you to get a clear path to knowing that your income of monetizing your personal brand is usually a direct reflexion of the value and the impact you have added to a specific audience. So a lot of people know you because you have a lot of valuable content on one or more subjects, it is going to be very easy for you to naturally send people up. This is without running advertisements. This is simply a natural and organic way for you to take the people who follow you on social media, who consume the content that you create and you have simply plugged them on to the logical platforms where you are building your personal brand. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube are some of the most popular and most used platforms which is where I recommend you Focus on building your personal brand. It is very easy to put your links on all these platforms on your profile so it is very easy for you to monetise your personal Brand .
