Before you can truly get the benefits of leveraging your personal brand- first you have to launch it. And that’s what we are going to talk about in this video.

So the first thing you need to understand is where is your audience hanging out. Because if you are going to launch your personal Brand it is so that you can impact people, it is so that you can reach people with your content.

Then the next thing we are going to talk about is how do you get to distribute content and then what types of content should you be creating to distribute to them on the platform that they are hanging out.

Then you need to figure out how you are actually going to generate traffic so that you are not just on a platform posting content and nobody sees it; but you are actually able to generate traffic on the content to really truly impact people.

And last but not the least we are going to talk about quickly the importance of having a place where people can reach out to you, learn more about you, contact you and even potentially buy from you. And that’s what we’ll talk about in regards to your website or other versions of that.

So let’s get started.

In this short video below we are simply going to cover how to Launch your personal brand.

So while Launching your Personal Brand, the following are some of the things you must think about:

  1. Where is Your Target Audience Hanging out- As we talk about hanging out hot spots, we really are just saying where is your audience hanging out-where is the hottest spot where u can reach them. And so the biggest platforms that people are hanging out are statistically would be Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. These are some of the more popular big platforms that lots n lots of people, billions of people are spending their time consuming content. And So the first thing is identifying where they are hanging out.

  2. How Will You Distribute Content to them- not only do you want to be on those primary platforms where your audience is likely hanging out so that you can easily distribute your content to them but you can potentially also identify some smaller niche hanging out hotspots. For example maybe there’s a blog article or publication where people are creating great content and your audience is going there and consuming that content- you can find unique ways to launch your personal brand to collaborate with someone who has a blog that’s getting a lot of your audience to hang out there and read that . You can collaborate and create some content and distribute there. Distributing your content on Social Media platforms is relatively easy. To figure out how you get on to someone else’s podcast, how to put your content on someone else’s blog are more of collaborative experience where you are talking to them about what they are looking for and then you can see how you can create valuable content. But I’ll be honest. This might not happen immediately. Meaning you have to become "THE PERSON" -you have to become the person that they want to collaborate with. You have to become the person that they look at as a subject matter expert otherwise why would they have you create content for their audience that they worked so hard to create if you don’t have value to provide.

  3. What Type of Content to Create- You might be thinking what type of content should I create. Should I be posting the food I am eating, should I be posting my travel- maybe... maybe not. It really depends upon the perception that you want to have. The value that you want to have on your audience. Lets be honest. People are not really going on social media and buying products from someone unless they see the person as an influencer , as a thought leaders and as an expert. Your content should be insightful. It should be short, it should be actionable and it should help me get a result. Because if it is just information that I can just look up online you no longer become as valuable.

  4. How To Start Creating the Content-You may feel that you are not an expert but here is an easy way to start creating content. If there is a valuable books online that someone should read to get a good result, you could go out, you could read the book and then your content on social media in the platform you choose could be summarizing a chapter of the book. You could go to seminar or a business event or a conference and you could learn a lot of valuable information and you could start to break it down in little tiny nuggets of information. short pieces of content that people can consume on social media. Because most people aren’t going to do the work, most people aren’t going to read the book, most people are not going to invest in the program, the coaching , or mentorship the seminar ,travel. Most people won’t put in the work. So if you are willing to read the books, go to the seminar make the necessary investments get the information, study all the different YouTube channels to get all the free information you can and then -you simply become the beacon- a person who facilitates simple versions of content that are a lot more complex to get access to. So, for example, your Facebook post, your Instagram feed, your YouTube video could all be little tiny short version pieces of content summarizing the experts. Because its unlikely that you would be teaching something that hasn’t be taught before . It is unlikely that you are trying to solve a problem or help somebody with a solution which doesn’t already exist. So Think of it this way. When producing content, you are not trying to be the expert and you are not trying to be a self proclaimed guru-we don’t need any people like that out there are enough people trying to do that. We need real people we need you to you step into your power, become your best self and build a personal brand that’s authentic that creates real impact through valuable content and actually has a purpose. A lot of times people are on social media just producing content that has no substance ; it has little authenticity and doesn’t really add any connection relevancy or value to the users . So when you are developing your content , you want to have actual value. “You don’t need to be miles ahead of somebody to give them advice, you only need to be one chapter ahead.” so think about that. So if you could literally and metaphorically be one chapter ahead of somebody on the thing you could help them with. If you want to be a wellness expert, go and read all the books and summarize them into short little videos, short little posts. Then eventually I look on social media, I look you up , I hear about you, I come across your content and I see that you rare a wealth of knowledge or you are a wealth of summarizing all the knowledge that already exists.

  5. How to start the process of launching your Personal Brand - In the beginning stages of anything, including personal branding you are probably going to start copying , imitating and emulating someone else’s material. Just like when you learn a piano, you learn sheet music from someone else’s piano music ; when you learn how to cook , you follow somebody’s recipe; when you learn how to paint , you follow someone’s paintings. And eventually when you have done enough of that, you eventually get the confidence and the knowledge and the skills to play your own music, to cook your own meals with and to paint your own paintings. So when trying to develop and launch a personal brand and position yourself as the go to person, you usually are going to study all the material out there, share it with people facilitate it and broker that value and say here is all the best stuff that I have seen. And then eventually people will see you , perceive you as the go to person. So in the beginning stages, as with anything , you are probably going to learn from someone else, share the material, credit them and after you have done that for so long, you will get the confidence to start creating your own versions of content. And after eventually doing this long enough, when someone looks you up when someone perceives you, when someone talks about you, they will perceive you as an expert in your niche. In the beginning you started by copying someone else's content and later on it becomes yours . And that’s how you develop authority that how u become an influencer or thought leader or potentially even an expert. Again, that shouldn’t necessarily be the goal – the goal should be to add value to individuals online and start creating content instead of consuming content.

  6. How much time do you need to dedicate to launching your Personal Brand- This is entirely up to you but initially you can start with just 15-30 minutes a day. Eventually you will see that it really starts to pay off and you would probably want to allocate more time. But the average person, research shows spends about 45 minutes to an hour every single day on social media consuming content. So all that I am really advising is that if you want to launch your personal brand, you take all the time you are taking to consuming content and reallocate that time to creating content, creating value. And that shift from consuming content to creating content over months and years could have one of the biggest impacts on your career , your business and your ultimate success. So that’s why launching your personal brand is something I highly advise that you do whether you are in a job, switching a career , have a business or are building one.

  7. How to get Traffic - It is no use creating content if your audience is not going to see it. So you need to drive traffic to your content. There are really only three ways to generate traffic.

    1. You can pay for it- you can run ads , you can run promotions and drive traffic.

    2. You can borrow it- someone else can promote you on their Blog or podcast or tag you on their social media and U can borrow their audience.

    3. You can create it- you can create content. People see it organically for free because someone liked it, someone shared it , someone commented on it -maybe potentially , possibly it goes viral or micro viral. Things start to get shared organically. The internet favors content that people like and that people consume ,that people share and that people comment on. So if you create content, if people like it and they engage with it and they share it and they keep coming back to it, the algorithm of social media will automatically for free share it. You need to figure out the way in which you want to generate traffic. You want to create it, you want to borrow it or you want to come up with a way to effectively buy traffic so that you can grow really quick. Now each one of those comes with its own level of complexities and skillsets needed and I will talk about that in my next upcoming post.

  8. How to have a place where people can reach out to you-You need to have a way that is clear and concise for people to reach out to you. Obviously, people can reach out to you on social media-that’s easy and people understand that. We will also recommend that at some point through the evolution of your personal brand you consider having a website. A professional place where you can send people through social media that they can find you, they can find about your mission, your vision, your products, your services your skill sets. They can learn more about you and figure out how you can help them at their business, in their career as a professional or as a freelance worker . A website is a very powerful way for you to be able to create all the information that you need for your client, for your manager, for your hiring person, in one singular place.

So there are a lot of great ways in which you can launch your personal brand. I have covered the foundational stuff that you can have a clear step by step process to at least begin to create content and launch your personal brand. I hope that this has been helpful for you. I want you to take action because nothing will happen if you don’t act on the information that you have been given.
